“I have been there, done that, burnt my fingers, cannot do it anymore”
Are your past experiences stopping you from the right actions today? Then you are stuck in that
point of time. Everything around you appears to be moving forward, but you are not moving along
with it. What is stopping you? The fear of an unpleasant experience in the past.
You were aiming for something when the unexpected happened. The right thing to do is to
understand your actions and the thoughts behind those actions. This is quite important because
your thoughts and actions interact with the external environment. Most often, you ignore this fact
and get attached to the outcome which is either pleasant or unpleasant. This causes fear or
greed to develop within you.
Do not let fear or greed be the guiding forces behind your future actions. If you let them be your
guides, they will make you pay undue attention to the outside factors and totally neglect the
thoughts behind your actions. As a result, you won’t be able to adapt yourself to the changes
around you. Your aim too would not have updated accordingly, creating stress within you, which
you incorrectly attribute to the external factors alone.
Your words and actions are influenced by your thoughts. Use it to your advantage. Do not throw
away this great advantage by excessively worrying about the external factors.
